So recently I came across a post on aramatheydidnt about a ranking of God Songs. As expected of mainstream Jpop and the mainstream fans, most of them are idols and male vocalists but unfortunately irrelevant to my interest. This slightly offended me but I know I was never the ‘normal’ fan of Jpop.
Anyhow, I thought I might share my own Top 10 Godly Songs.

I still think a PV of this song would instantly makes it my #1 song of the year and not just #2.
A quite recent interview of Arika talking about her band, ALI PROJECT. It mentioned her gaudy and characteristic costumes, unique lyrics, and diverse music. She explained since debuted in 1992, she had always been inspired by the Gothic Lolita scene and wanted to bring it to her music. Only in 2004 when the band collaborated with the anime Rozen Maiden she finally had the opportunity. But since then the band had not been strictly stuck with Gothic Lolita. Arika visualized ALI PROJECT’s music with different themes like military, celestial maiden, Empress Dowager, and zombies among others. She explained that ALI PROJECT’s music is not the usual type of music people sing to so the costumes would be something not the norm either. ALI PROJECT is not just a music band, it’s a collaboration of arts. Without her team, the band would not be as it is now. And that’s just as much as my sketchy Japanese can understand. Sorry.
Stick to the end of the clip you’d get a performance of Gansakushi. I really wish it was a full version instead of just one verse.
Arika and Yui, I’m still waiting for a collaboration between the bands you represent.

YAY for ALI PROJECT! Well, they’re there almost every year but YAY! I’m hoping for Kyomu Densen and Gansakushi.
Zwei is a surprise. I’m happy they’re still together and active, but I really don’t know how to feel since they’ve became an anison band.
Glorious Yousei Teikoku is absent. This saddens me.
I’m loving Gansakushi, especially the title track, but wtf with the lack of PV of this magnificent song? This doesn’t make any sense to me.
Listening to this song always made me hungry.
